Cambodia’s Chairmanship
On 1 January 2022, Cambodia assumed the Chairmanship of ASEAN for the third time, after 2002 and 2012. In this context, Cambodia aims to boost the momentum of ASEAN Community Building efforts and advance ASEAN’s external relations to maintain peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
For Cambodia, our chairmanship is a continuation of various chairmanships and carries forward the remaining and ongoing activities in advancing the implementation of the ASEAN Community Blueprint 2025 and developing an ASEAN Community Post-2025 Vision to consolidate and strengthen the ASEAN Community Building, ASEAN centrality, and ASEAN unity as well as its relevance and prestige on the world stage.
In this regard, Cambodia has chosen the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together” for 2022 to highlight the importance of ASEAN’s spirit as a united family of ten, with a strong sense of togetherness to address common challenges and achieve shared goals.
