On 14 October 2024, Her Excellency EAT Sophea, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Adviser to Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister, had a productive meeting with Her Excellency Laura Updegrove, visiting U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia. Both sides applauded the frequent high-level engagements and exchange of visits, which strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the United States and Cambodia, including in development, security and defense. They discussed on ways to build stronger bilateral ties and ASEAN-US cooperation, given Cambodia’s role as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-US dialogue relations.
