In the morning of 22 February 2022, H.E. PRAK Phalla, Advisor to Samdech Techo Prime Minister HUN Sen, and H.E. SAN Chanrithy, Member of Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Team, high representatives of H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, met with representatives of Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) of Turkey to promote and strengthen economic cooperation between Cambodia and Turkey.

The meeting focused on “Investment and Business Opportunities in Cambodia”, which covers the promotion of Cambodia’s new Investment Law, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. It also paves the way for Turkish business people and investors to learn about and explore new opportunities offered by Cambodia due to wider market access, recent conclusions of bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements, the vaccination campaign success in Cambodia, and the tourism recovery framework especially via the reopening of the country to vaccinated travellers.

After the meeting with DEIK, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce hosted a working lunch for the Cambodian delegation to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of Cambodia-Turkey diplomatic relations.
