On the 25th May 2023, H.E. Mr. SOK Soken, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Cambodia’s Alternate SOM Leader for Mekong Cooperation, co-chaired the Senior Officials’ Meeting of Mekong-Republic of Korea Cooperation (Mekong-ROK SOM) with H.E. Mr. KIM Dong-bae, Director-General for ASEAN and Southeast Asian Affairs.

This meeting reviewed the progress and discussed on future direction of the cooperation as well as received updates from the Mekong Institute on 40 projects under the Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund (MKCF) and also highlighted the new ROK’s "Strategy for a Free, Peaceful and Prosperous Indo-Pacific Region". The meeting also appreciated ROK for doubling the Fund to 10 million USD in contributing to the integration efforts in the Mekong sub-region.
