On the morning of June 7th, 2023, Her Excellency TUOT Panha, Secretary of State on behalf of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received His Excellency Jonathan KINGS, New Zealand Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia with residence in Bangkok, at the Ministry. During the meeting, both sides reviewed with satisfaction the progress of the two countries’ bilateral relations.

Her Excellency TUOT Panha expressed her deep appreciation towards New Zealand for her continual assistance in Cambodia’s socio-economic development. While noting the gradual increase of bilateral trade volume, both sides also discussed ways to encourage further expansion of trade and investment between the two countries. His Excellency Ambassador expressed New Zealand companies’ interests in manufacturing investment in Cambodia. Both sides agreed on the importance of closely working together in the fields of education, agriculture, renewable energy, demining, and climate resilience. The two sides also agreed on the convening of the Third Cambodia-New Zealand Foreign Ministries’ Consultations later this year to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in many areas for the mutual interest of the two peoples.

Additionally, the two sides had also exchanged views on regional and international matters of mutual concern and interest.
