On the evening of 12 July 2023, H.E. Mr. SOK Soken, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Cambodia’s Alternate SOM Leader for Mekong Cooperation, attended an informal Senior Officials’ Meeting between Mekong countries and the United States, Japan, and Republic of Korea, which was hosted by the U.S. in Jakarta, Indonesia via hybrid format. This meeting attended by Mekong SOM Leaders from five Mekong countries including Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam and Mekong Development Partners including the U.S., Japan, and Republic of Korea.

At the meeting, SOM Leaders exchanged views on how to further enhance engagement between Mekong Development Partners and Mekong Cooperation frameworks to drive forward practical actions for an inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development in the Mekong sub-region.
