Courtesy Call by Ambassador of the Russian Federation


On 10 October 2023, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by His Excellency Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister started by expressing appreciation to Russia for the continuing aid and assistance to Cambodia, especially, in human resource development. His Excellency Ambassador reaffirmed Russia's commitment to further promote education in Cambodia, and took the opportunity to extend condolences to the families of a Cambodian student who fell victim to the latest tragedy in Israel.

In response, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Russian Ambassador for his compassion and emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia is doing everything in its power to ensure the safety of all Cambodian students in Israel.

Both sides noted with deep satisfaction of the traditional bonds of friendship between Cambodia and Russia, guided by the principles of mutual respect and shared interests. They underlined the importance of continued cooperation in mutually beneficial spheres, including trade and investment, and culture among others. To this end, they agreed to hold the 11th Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in early 2024. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common concern.
