On 27 October 2023, His Excellency CHUM Sounry, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by His Excellency Gustavo Alberto Martino, on the occasion of his assumption of duties as new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia with residence in Bangkok. 

During the call, His Excellency Secretary of State and His Excellency Ambassador appreciated the traditional bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and the Argentine Republic and underscored the strong commitment for their enhancement.

The Secretary of State and the Ambassador had a productive discussion on the implementation of the roadmap for bilateral cooperation agreed upon during the First Bilateral Consultations and shared the same commitment to further enhance the cooperation between both countries. They touched on the ways and means to move forward the cooperation on trade and investment, tourism, and agriculture.

They also affirmed their readiness to work closely to further strengthen the good cooperation between the two countries through mutual supports within the United Nations and international organizations, and ASEAN- MERCOSUR cooperation frameworks.
