On 29 October 2023, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Tokyo in collaboration with the East Asia and Southeast Asia (ESEA) Working Group and the Cambodian communities in Japan organized a rice harvesting ceremony followed by Og Ambok, a traditional flattened rice dish, in Fujisawa district, in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The Embassy annually organizes a traditional event with our Cambodian communities in Japan with an aim to safeguard and promote Cambodian traditions and culture as well as a showcase to the Cambodian young generation.
Some Japanese people also participated in this event and tasted Khmer foods with the Cambodian communities, and showed how to make Japanese cakes. As this year marks the 70th anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Cambodia -Japan, the event offered a golden opportunity for the two peoples to share their cultures.
