On 18 November 2024, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Cambodian Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, attended the Annual Summit of the Asia-Pacific Security Innovation (APSI) Forum in Wellington, New Zealand. Under the theme, "Tomorrow’s Geopolitics: Crafting conflict resolution narratives", the Summit discussed ways in which the peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific can be maintained and promoted.
Joining his colleagues, the Malaysian High Commissioner and the Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand, Ambassador Chanborey shared an ASEAN perspective by emphasizing the importance of the ASEAN Way and ASEAN Centrality in building an open, inclusive, transparent, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. He also highlighted Cambodia’s approach to regional peace and cooperation.
During his stay in Wellington, Ambassador Chanborey had separate meetings with his counterparts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, namely (1) Ms Joanna Kempkers, Divisional Manager for South and Southeast Asia; and (2) Ms Jacquie Dean, Divisional Manager for Global Development and Scholarships. They shared a commitment to further promoting Cambodia-New Zealand bilateral ties as the two countries are celebrating the 65th Anniversary of their diplomatic relationship.
