On 21 November 2019, His Excellency HOK Sophea, Ambassador of the Kingdom of​Cambodia to Brunei Darussalam, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Marcal Avelino Ximenes, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam. Timor-Leste gained independence from Indonesia in 2002 through UN's organized referendum. In 2011, Timor-Leste applied to join the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). We wish Timor-Leste a success in realizing its aspiration to become a member of ASEAN in the near future.\r\n\r\n
