In the Afternoon of 18 August 2022, H.E. Dr. CHEM Widhya, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by His Excellency Vahram Kazhoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry after His Excellency the Ambassador has presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. During the meeting, both sides discussed the potentials for cooperation in order to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and exchanged views on the key deliverables during the Cambodia’s ASEAN chairmanship as well as  regional and international issues. On that occasion, H.E. Dr. CHEM Widhya expressed his sadness and conveyed his condolences through His Excellency Vahram Kazhoyan over an explosion at Surmalu shopping centre in Yerevan on 14 August 2022, leaving dozens of dead and injured.
