On 28 September 2024 on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Yván Gil Pinto, Minister of the People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the United Nations Headquarter, New York.

The Deputy Prime Minister is pleased that despite geographical distance, Cambodia always attaches great importance to deepening and enhancing friendly ties and cooperation with Venezuela, as well as other countries in Latin America.

His Excellency Yván Gil Pinto expressed sincere thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister for the opportunity to meet during the busy time of UNGA79 and conveyed appreciation for the close cooperation between the two countries. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
