On October 28, 2024, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to the Federal Republic of Germany, in its capacity as the chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee, organized the 57th ASEAN Day Celebration. Attending the event were His Excellency Ambassador Frank Hartmann, Director General in charge of Asia and Pacific Affairs of the Federal Foreign Office; representatives from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development; ambassadors of ASEAN Dialogue Partners; ambassadors and diplomats from ASEAN countries; and desk officers of the Federal Foreign Office in charge of ASEAN countries, totaling approximately 150 attendees.
As the rotating Chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee, His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra delivered ASEAN Day message, highlighting the remarkable achievements of ASEAN. He particularly emphasized ASEAN’s success in bolstering peace, security and prosperity in the region. His excellency ambassador also underscored the importance of continued collaboration among member states and partners to maintain and build upon these successes.
The celebration featured a special segment showcasing video clips from ASEAN member states, highlighting their unique tourist attractions and rich cultural heritage. During this segment, Cambodia presented its video clip titled “Visit Cambodia,” adding to the immersive experience that captured the Kingdom’s diverse beauty and traditions. Additionally, the event included an exquisite display of ASEAN member states' cuisine, providing participants with a culinary journey reflecting the region's rich and diverse flavors. On this occasion, Cambodia featured Khmer heritage dishes, including Num Banh Chok, Amok Trei, Caramelized Sticky Rice, and Num Kralorgi, along with other agricultural products, tourist attractions, and cultural items.
