The Mekong-Japan Senior Officials’ Meeting and the 2nd Mekong-Japan SDGs Forum-


On 13 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Meas Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Cambodia’s SOM Leader for Mekong Cooperation, attended the Mekong-Japan Senior Officials’ Meeting and the 2nd Mekong-Japan SDGs Forum in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Mekong-Japan SOM Meeting co-chaired by Japan and Viet Nam, reviewed the progress of the Mekong-Japan Cooperation Strategy 2024, which focuses on three key pillars: (1) Resilience and a connected society in the post-COVID-19 world, (2) Digitalization, and (3) Proactive responses to non-traditional security issues. Meanwhile, the Mekong-Japan Forum, co-hosted by Japan and Thailand, focused on effective water resource management and measures to address the risks of transboundary haze.
