On 08 November 2018, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Malaysia organized a reception in celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Kingdom of Cambodia at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur with the attendance of around 250 guests including the Malaysian leaders, Khmer citizens living in Malaysia, Foreign Ambassadors/High Commissioners, Representatives from International Organizations, Private Sectors. etc.  The Government of Malaysia appointed the Honourable Haji Khalid bin Abd. Samad, Minister of Federal Territories to attend this auspicious occasion as the Guest of Honour.
