An Inter-ministerial and Private Sector Meeting on the Progress of the Implementation of Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023 (09 December 2021)


Under the guidance of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on 09 December 2021, a virtual meeting among the inter-ministerial and the private sector working group had been hosted to report and monitor the 2021 progress of the implementation of Economic Diplomacy Strategy (2021-2023) and the way forward for the 2022 Action Plan.

The event was presided over by His Excellency Dr. NHIM Khemara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Team Leader of this inter-ministerial and private sector working group with over 100 participants, including from Cambodia missions abroad and representatives from line ministries and private sector of the working group.

The meeting stressed on the progress and coordination mechanism for timely and effective implementation of Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023. Members of the working group, who were representatives from relevant ministries and institutions such as Cambodia missions abroad, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and from the private sector, gave presentations to share information and their experiences in hope to strengthen cooperation and contribute to the effective implementation of economic diplomacy towards further socio-economic development.

His Excellency Secretary of State emphasized that any fruitful achievements resulted from the implementation of the "Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023" in this very first year must be attributed to genuine cooperation and active participation from all parties involved – both the public and private sectors.
