On December 7, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the 1st Informative Workshop of the Economic and Commercial Mission of La Francophonie in Cambodia (MECA) was organized in hybrid.

Chaired by His Excellency Dr. CHHIV Yiseang, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and National Correspondent of Cambodia to the OIF, more than a hundred participants from Cambodian public and private institutions joined in this workshop and furthermore, more than fifty foreign companies from French-speaking countries of the North American; African; European continents and Indian Ocean region participated by video conference. The objective of this 1st workshop was to establish the very first-exchanges and contacts for the preparation of the MECA which will take place in March 2022 in Phnom Penh, with a delegation of more than 85 economic operators, from member of French-speaking countries.

This workshop terminated with a Gala dinner to order to celebrate La Francophonie under the theme “Francophone-Economic Meeting" under the presence of His Excellency Mr. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce and Representative of His Excellency the Deputy Prime Prak Sokhonn, His Excellency Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, as well as His Excellency Jacques Pellet, Ambassador of France to Cambodia.
