The 4th Cambodia-UK Human Rights Dialogue ( 26 May 2022 )


On May 26, 2022, H.E. Dr. CHEM Widhya, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the Cambodian Delegation, co-chaired "the 4th Cambodia-UK Human Rights Dialogue under the theme “inclusivity and Participation at the Commune Elections 2022 and the National Elections 2023”, which was held at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, London, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Cambodian delegation consists of Representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Ministry of Commerce, and the Cambodian Human Rights Committee. The UK side was led by H.E. Ms. Joelle Jenny, Director of Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific Department accompanied by .E. Tina Redshaw, the British Ambassador to Cambodia, the Head of Southeast Asia Department and experts from relevant sectors. This session is the final round of the four Sessions of the  Cambodia-UK Human Rights Dialogue agreed upon by the two Ministers, H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Dominic Raab, First Secretary, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the UK during his official visit to Cambodia on 23rd June 2021. The first three Sessions were held in Cambodia. The Dialogue in London was held in an atmosphere of cordial mutual understanding, esteem, appreciation and respect conducive to further dialogues and cooperation aiming at further enhancing the relations between our two countries and Peoples. After the Dialogue, H.E. Dr. CHEM Widhya had a separate meeting with Mr. Keith Shannon, an expert on Eastern European Affairs, as both leaders discussed and exchanged views on  regional and international issues.
