On 02 September 2022, His Excellency OUCH Borith, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and Standing Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia held the second Political Consultation with His Excellency Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba at the MFAIC.

During the meeting, the two sides briefed each other on the current political and social situation in their respective country and the Government’s priorities, which focused on peace, social stability and reviving economy post-covid-19 pandemic.

Both sides noted with satisfaction that despite the change in this uncertain world, and in such a fast evolution of political issues, shaken by the superpowers, the traditional friendship and good cooperations between the two countries have continued to grow in several areas including trade, health, education, connectivity and collaboration between the two foreign ministries.

The two sides discussed cooperation in the multilateral frameworks such as UN and ASEAN frameworks. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues such as situation in Myanmar, Ukraine crisis and political panorama in Latin America and the Caribbean. Both sides agreed to further mutual supporting each other both regionally and internationally.

The meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding, reflecting the common aspiration to forge relations between the two countries.
