In the morning of 11 August 2023, H.E. Mr. SOK Soken, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA.IC) and Vice Chairman of the National Secretariat of Cambodia (NSC) for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC), led a Kick-Off Project Meeting under the framework of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2023. 

The meeting was to highlight the progress and the main importance of the MLC framework in contributing to an inclusive and sustainable development of the Mekong sub-region. Cambodia has so far received 89 projects worth more than 33 million dollars from this MLCSF, which has supported a variety of priority sectors, especially rural development, with the aim of improving people's well-being. The meeting also shared financial standard of procedure with implementing agencies in order to ensure smooth implementation of all new projects in accordance with the standards set out in the legal framework. 

For this year, Cambodia has received a total of 09 new projects supported by the MLC Special Fund 2023.
