Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation sees Economic Diplomacy as Key in Promoting Cambodia’s Cultural Identity on the International Stage

On 27 October 2023, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired an internal meeting covering the achievements of the implementation of Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023, and laid out the necessary foundations for preparations of the incoming 2024-2028 strategy.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of how economic diplomacy strategy should evolve within the digital era, and how this will be a key platform to promote the cultural identity of Cambodia nationally and internationally. Similar credence was also lent to collaboration between Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group (EDCG), Cambodia missions abroad and relevant stakeholders including applicable ministries, institutions, and private partners to boost Cambodia's reputation on the international level. This strategy will subsequently boost exports, attract investments, and promote the Khmer culture (including sports, religion and tourism) on the international stage.
