On 30 October 2023, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a productive telephone conversation with Her Excellency KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. 

The Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of close interaction and exchanges between the Leaders of the two countries. Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen and deepen the Cambodia-Japan relations, recently elevated to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as the two countries are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations this year. 

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister highly valued Japan’s vital role and ongoing development assistance in contribution to Cambodia’s peace process and socio-economic development.
