On 31 October 2023, His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had a productive discussion with His Excellency Wang Wentian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cambodia, during the latter’s courtesy call at the Ministry.

Both sides spoke highly of the perpetual growth of Cambodia-China relations and cooperation, benefiting the two peoples and countries, and agreed to effectively implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ top leadership, including (1) the launch of “Diamond Cooperation” and (2) the establishment of the “Industrial Development Corridor” and “Fish and Rice Corridor” as concurred by Samdech Techo HUN Sen and His Excellency President XI Jinping in February 2023.

Both sides noted with satisfaction the fruitful meetings between Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister and Chinese leaders, particularly His Excellency President XI Jinping and His Excellency Premier LI Qiang, during the two visits of Samdech Thipadei to China. They also agreed to initiate various activities to celebrate the People-to-People Exchange Year in 2024 to further attract more Chinese tourists to Cambodia.
