On 4 December 2023, Her Excellency EAT Sophea presented the Letter of Credence appointing her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary M. Simon, Governor-General of Canada. During a courtesy meeting after the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador EAT Sophea conveyed the most cordial greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia to the Right Honourable Mary M. Simon, and briefed her on the developments in Cambodia, as well as the progress of Cambodia-Canada relations. 

On the same day, following a courtesy meeting with Mr. Sébastien Carrière, the Global Affairs Canada’s Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Eat Sophea called on Mr. Weldon Epp, Assistant Deputy Minister in charge of Indo-Pacific and discussed with him, and the Director of Southeast Asia Division II of the Global Affairs of Canada, on promoting bilateral relations and cooperation in various areas between Cambodia and Canada. 

During her stay in Canada, Ambassador Eat Sophea also had cordial meetings with members of the Cambodian diaspora in Ottawa and Montreal and visited the office of the Honorary Consul of Cambodia in Montreal.
