On 10 January 2024, His Excellency MEAS Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Cambodia’s SOM Leader for Mekong Cooperation, virtually attended the Mekong-US Partnership (MUSP) Senior Officials' Meeting, which was co-chaired by His Excellency Daniel J. Kritenbrink, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and His Excellency Somboun Sihanath, Director General of Economic Affairs Department, MoFA, and participated by Mekong countries' Senior officials. The meeting discussed the draft of MUSP Plan of Action (PoA) 2024-2026 and exchanged views on ways to advance the Mekong-US Partnership Cooperation focused on economic connectivity, sustainable water management, environmental protection, food and energy security, human resource development, and transnational crime. Additionally, the meeting also discussed the thematic focus for the upcoming policy dialogue.
