On 22 February 2024, Ambassador EAT Sophea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations, bid farewell to His Excellency António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, as her tour of duty has been concluded. 

Taking this opportunity, Ambassador Sophea affirmed Cambodia's support for the Secretary-General's 2024 priorities to fulfill the people's aspiration for peace, with security and dignity. She also highlighted Cambodia's commitment to further promote cooperation with the United Nations to achieve the sustainable development goals and maintenance of international peace. She also stressed the importance of strengthening rules-based multilateralism to address current global challenges.

His Excellency Secretary-General sincerely thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its active support of the United Nations’ efforts and works. He wished the Ambassador success in her new endeavor.
