On 15 March 2024, His Excellency MEAS Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) SOM Leader of Cambodia, received a courtesy call by Mr. CHEN Cong, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, His Excellency Secretary of State conveyed his warm congratulations to Mr. CHEN Cong for his appointment as Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, especially in charge of the MLC framework. In addition, His Excellency Secretary of State underscored the significance of the MLC framework in contributing to socio-economic development in the region. His Excellency Secretary of State also briefed Minister-Counsellor Chen about the holding of the MLC Week Event in Phnom Penh next week in order to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation.

His Excellency Secretary of State and Minister-Counsellor Chen reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely in advancing the MLC cooperation framework to ensure the successful implementation of MLC Plan of Action 2023-2027 so as to realize MLC Leaders’ vision of building a Community of Shared Future of Peace and Prosperity among Mekong-Lancang countries.
