His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Hungary with Residence in Berlin, Germany, presented the Letter of Credence appointing him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary to His Excellency Dr. Tamás SULYOK, President of Hungary, on 8 May 2024.  His Excellency Ambassador conveyed the most cordial greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, to His Excellency President of Hungary.
 
On this occasion, Ambassador Thyra and President Dr. SULYOK exchanged views on further enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. Ambassador Thyra commenced by congratulating Hungary on assuming the EU presidency for the second half of 2024 as well as celebrating its 20th anniversary as a member of the European Union.
 
In response, President Dr. Tamás SULYOK expressed sincere appreciation for the congratulations on Hungary's EU chairmanship and commended Cambodia for its achievements as Chair of ASEAN in 2022 and host of the SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games in 2023.
 
Furthermore, on the same day, His Excellency Ambassador met with Ambassador Péter Jakab, Head of the Asia and Oceania Department.
