Cambodia admitted to be Member of the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD)


On 18 July 2024, His Excellency MEAS Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, attended the 5th Working Level Meeting of the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD), which was held via video conference.

The Meeting discussed the role of the Palestinian Authority in the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, the assistance efforts for the Palestinian people and the importance of coordination and cooperation through CEAPAD. At the end of the meeting, Japan and the State of Palestine as Co-chairs of the meeting welcomed Cambodia and Lao PDR as new official CEAPAD members.

During the meeting, His Excellency MEAS Kim Heng emphasized that Cambodia holds in high regard the efforts of CEAPAD and the contributions made by CEAPAD members and stakeholders in mobilizing assistances over the years to support and strengthen Palestine’s capacity for the realization of its aspiration for stability, socio-economic rehabilitation, and more importantly, long-lasting peace. As a new member of CEAPAD, Cambodia hopes to share with the Palestinian people its knowledge and experience in socio-economic rehabilitation for the rebuilding efforts with the Palestinian people.
