On 9 August 2024 – His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received a courtesy call by His Excellency Dominic Williams, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Cambodia, at the Ministry.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and His Excellency Ambassador are delighted to witness the significant elevation in Cambodia - UK relations in various fields of cooperation. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the recent official opening of De Montfort University on 8 August 2024 which will further enhance human resource development and foster educational cooperation. He also extended his sincere thanks for the UK's ongoing support for the development of Cambodia. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Cambodia’s continued support for enhancing ASEAN-UK relations.

In response, His Excellency Dominic Williams expressed the UK's commitment to further intensifying cooperation in education, trade and defense, among others.
During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
