On 05 September 2024, His Excellency SOM VISAL, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with His Excellency Kanat TUMYSH, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Cambodia with residence in Ha Noi, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, His Excellency Under Secretary of State congratulated His Excellency Kanat TUMYSH on his appointment as a new Kazakh Ambassador to Cambodia and stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stands ready to work closely with His Excellency Ambassador and the Embassy of Kazakhstan to promote ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides reviewed the development of bilateral relations and agreed to foster cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, tourism and education. They also emphasized the importance of resuming talks pertaining to the draft of MoU on Political Consultation between the two Ministries, which is a substantial mechanism for exploring new ways to foster exchanges of trade, economics, tourism and cooperation in other areas. 

Meanwhile, both sides also expressed commitment to further promote cooperation and support each other in bilateral and multilateral frameworks between the two nations.
