On the morning of 9 September 2024, during the official visit to the People's Republic of China, His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia had a meeting with His Excellency Nong Rong, Deputy Head of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

During the Meeting, His Excellency the Secretary of State and His Excellency Nong Rong discussed mutually beneficial Cambodia and China relations as well as ASEAN-China relations. Both sides emphasized the importance of further deepening and broadening bilateral potential areas of concrete and practical cooperation such as digital economy, green economy, green transition and blue economy, and the development of financial, technological and logistical hubs through trade and investment, amongst other things. They also explored ways as to how to come up with tangible projects for implementation so as to further boost ASEAN-China cooperation, thus contributing to ASEAN Community building effort.
