On 11 September 2024, Her Excellency Yentieng Puthirasmey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by Ms. Nellie GHUSAYNI, newly appointed Chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia, at the Ministry during which the latter presented the credentials on the appointment as chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia. 

Ms Nellie GHUSAYNI informed Her Excellency Secretary of State on cooperation between IOM and Cambodia’s line ministries in promoting the safeguard of Cambodian migrants and combating human trafficking in Cambodia. She also expressed high appreciation on Cambodia’s efforts in addressing migrant challenges. 

In response, Her Excellency Yentieng Puthirasmey congratulated Ms. Nellie on her appointment as the Chief of Mission of IOM in Cambodia. Her Excellency Secretary of State expressed her appreciation to IOM for its support and assistance in protecting vulnerable Cambodian migrants living abroad and providing capacity building in Cambodia.

Finally, both sides reiterated their shared determination to further enhance the closed cooperation between Cambodia and IOM.
