Cambodia and Croatia organize the first session of Bilateral Consultations between the two Foreign Ministries

On 5 November 2024, H.E. Mr. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Mr. Frano Matušić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, co-chaired the first session of Bilateral Consultations between the two Foreign Ministries in Zagreb.

While emphasizing the significance of these consultations in strengthening Cambodia-Croatia relations, which lays a solid foundation for deeper diplomatic, economic, and cultural collaboration, and promoting mutual understanding, the two co-chairs exchanged their views on the shared histories of post-conflict recovery and recognized the importance of peace and human capital development as pillars of lasting progress.

During his stay in Croatia, H.E. Mr. Khuon Phon Rattanak also led a Cambodian delegation to visit Rijeka Port, one of Croatia's most strategically important maritime corridors and engaged in fruitful discussions with Mr. Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director of Rijeka Port, to explore potential areas for cooperation between the ports of both countries. The Cambodian delegation was also given an impressive presentation on an overview of the port's major projects and had the opportunity to visit the key ongoing projects.

This consultation marks a renewed commitment to deepening Cambodia-Croatia ties for the benefit of both nations and sets the stage for the celebration of 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
