On 4 December 2024, H.E. Mr. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Mr. Julius Pranevičius, Director for Indo-Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, co-chaired the first session of the Cambodia-Lithuania Bilateral Consultations at the Ministry, after both side signed the Memorandum of Understanding formalizing the establishment of bilateral consultations between the two ministries of foreign affairs.
During the discussion, the Co-Chairs identified key areas of mutually beneficial cooperation that align with each country's priorities and expertise. These include the opportunity of high-level engagements, cooperation in humanitarian demining through the sharing of experiences, and educational cooperation in the field of agriculture. Lithuania, with its expertise in digital technology and sport, expressed its readiness to share knowledge and experience with Cambodia.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common concerns. This inaugural bilateral consultation marks a significant step forward in strengthening cooperation and bonds of friendship between the two countries.
