On the morning of 5 December 2024, His Excellency Dr. Un Kheang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,  held discussions with His Excellency Sun Weidong, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

The discussions focused on the long historical relations between China and Cambodia built by the two countries’ leaders i.e., former King Norodom Sihanouk and President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen,  and Premier Zhou Enlai and President Xi Jinping.  The two leaders also stressed the commitment of the current generation of leadership of the two countries to continue to nurture this historical tie to a new height.

During the meeting, His Excellency Sun Weidong expressed his support for the cooperation projects between the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (NIDIR) and China’s key diplomatic institutions, such as China Institute for International Studies and China Foreign Affairs University.
