On the afternoon of 30 January 2025, His Excellency KHUON Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call by His Excellency Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Cambodia, with residence in Hanoi, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the traditional bonds of friendship between Cambodia and Azerbaijan, particularly highlighting the recent commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Establishment of diplomatic ties. They underlined the importance of further elevating the engagement between the two nations in mutually beneficial spheres, and explored various approaches and mechanisms to enhance closer cooperation across their respective parliaments, governments, peoples, and private sectors.

Both sides also discussed key agenda items for the upcoming fourth round of Bilateral Consultations between the two foreign ministries, scheduled to take place in Phnom Penh.
