On behalf of His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, His Excellency BONG Sovath, Under Secretary of State, attended the 40th ASEAN-Japan Forum from 4 to 5 March 2025, in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

The Forum reviewed the effectiveness of the existing ASEAN-Japan cooperation, set its future direction under the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and placed a particular focus on partners for peace and stability, partners for co-creation of economy and society of the future, and heart-to-heart partners across generation. The Forum also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interests and concerns.
