On the morning of 9 July 2025, Her Excellency EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a farewell call from His Excellency Jacques PELLET, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the meeting, Her Excellency Eat Sophea expressed sincere appreciation to H.E. Jacques PELLET for his active contribution to enhancing  Cambodia-France cordial relations  in both political and economic fields, as well as in supporting the socio-economic development of Cambodia. She also commended the French Ambassador for his endeavor to strengthen and expand cooperation between Cambodia and France under multilateral framework.

For his part,  Ambassador Jacques PELLET expressed his pride to have contributed to the steady and notable growth of relations and cooperation between France and Cambodia during his tenure. He also thanked Cambodia for working in partnership with France in addressing various global challenges, such as ocean environment and bio-diversity conservation, safe and inclusive use of artificial intelligence, campaign against malnutrition, international peacekeeping operation, preparation for the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, in Cambodia. The two sides also touched on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
