On the afternoon of 21 August 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call from Mrs. Kyung-nan Park, the new Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) to Cambodia, who presented her credentials.

During the call, Mrs. Kyung-nan Park highly appreciated the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia in promoting food security and nutrition and reiterated WFP’s commitment to strengthening close cooperation with Cambodia in these areas.

In response, Her Excellency Mrs. EAT Sophea extended her warm welcome and congratulations to Mrs. Kyung-nan Park on her appointment as the new Representative and Country Director of WFP to Cambodia. Her Excellency commended WFP for its contributions to Cambodia’s development over the past five decades, including its recent delivery of 220 metric tons of rice to 4500 displaced households in Oddar Meanchey province.
