The Third Foreign Ministries’ Consultations between Cambodia and New Zealand


On 22 August 2025, His Excellency Dr. Un Kheang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Her Excellency Joanna Kempkers, Divisional Manager of South and South East Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, co-chaired the Third Foreign Ministries’ Consultations (3rd FMCs) between Cambodia and New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand.

 

During the consultations, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the positive development of bilateral relations, and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening existing cooperation and exploring new areas for collaboration to promote mutual benefit. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern and interest.

 

At the conclusion of the consultations, both sides agreed to convene the 4th FMCs in 2026 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

 

Prior to the 3rd FMCs, His Excellency Dr. Un Kheang had a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Taha Macpherson, Deputy Chief Executive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in priority and explore potential areas for future cooperation.
