On 21 August 2025, on the sidelines of the 10th FEALAC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Ulaanbaatar, His Excellency CHUM Sounry, Secretary of State and Head of Delegation of Cambodia, held bilateral discussions with his Colombian counterpart, Ambassador Manuel Solano, Executive Secretary of the Colombia National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (COLPECC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia.

His Excellency Sounry highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in trade, education and capacity building, demining, and tourism. Both sides emphasized the intention to hold the 3rd Bilateral Consultation between their Foreign Ministries early next year. On education, he expressed appreciation for Colombia’s offer to provide Spanish language training to Cambodian diplomats by sending Colombian instructors to Cambodia, with the academic institutes of the two Foreign Ministries continuing coordination.
