On the morning of 27 August 2025, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, had a meeting with His Excellency SUZUKI Hideo, Ambassador for Mekong Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the steady growth of the bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors, including politics, trade, investment, defense, security, development cooperation and humanitarian mine action. Both sides also shared information and views on ensuring the full and effective implementation of the Cambodia-Thailand ceasefire agreement, as well as ways to de-escalate tensions and revitalizing economic activities along the border, with the aim of normalizing the relations between Cambodia and Thailand.
