On 16 October 2025, His Excellency KAN Pharidh, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, during the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Uganda.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views to strengthen cooperation within both the bilateral and multilateral frameworks, as the two countries recently celebrated the 65th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. The top leaders of both countries also sent congratulatory letters to each other.

H.E. KAN Pharidh also briefly informed his counterpart of the developments of the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute. He emphasized the Royal Government's efforts to resolve the border dispute peacefully and in accordance with international law. What Cambodia is seeking is a fair, equitable, and rules-based solution in accordance with international legal basis and bilateral mechanisms that can ensure lasting peace for both nations.
