From 23 to 29 November 2025, H.E. Nong Sakal, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, participated in the Annual Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention, held in The Hague, the Netherlands. The conference was organized by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Cambodia National Authority for Chemical Weapons and delegates.
The Conference was convened to review and assess the implementation of the Convention by the States Parties, in accordance with the spirit of the CWC, which aims to prevent the use of chemical weapons—prohibited globally due to their severe impact on human life and the environment. In addition, the Conference examined recommendations and action plans to be further implemented in order to strengthen collective efforts against the use of any form of chemical or biological weapons, including their production, transportation, stockpiling, and distribution, all of which pose serious risks and dangers to humanity and the environment at a larger scale.
