From 7 to 10 December 2025, His Excellency SUN Sovanna, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, undertook an official working mission to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. On that occasion, His Excellency the secretary of State and the accompanying delegation held formal consultations with Mrs. Marie-Josée AUDET, Assistant Deputy Minister for International Relations and La Francophonie of the Government of Quebec; Professor Slim KHALBOUS, Rector of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF); as well as senior officials from McGill University and HEC Montréal.

These consultations provided an opportunity to review the support of these institutions for the preparations of the 20th Francophonie Summit, which the Kingdom of Cambodia will host, and reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and institutional partnerships between Quebec’s universities and Cambodian higher-education institutions.
