On 26 July 2019 at Capitol Hill, H.E. Chum Sounry, Cambodian Ambassador​ ​to the United States of America, met with Congressman Brad Sherman, Ranking Member of  the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, House’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, and with Congressman Alan Lowenthal.\r\n\r\nThe Ambassador briefed the two Congressmen on Cambodia’s good working relation with the UN Human Rights Council and the acceptance by Cambodia of 173 out of the total 198 recommendations made by the UN Human Rights Council.\r\n\r\nThe Ambassador also underlined the Cambodian commitment to strengthen democracy, human rights and the rule of law while to protect also peace and political stability, which are the pre-condition for economic development.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
